Refreshing Chai Tea Smoothie

Here’s a little something to snap you out of your back-to-work Monday blahs…

This simple chai tea smoothie is a slightly sweet and definitely spicy treat that will bring that smile back to your face. This one is gluten-free and dairy-free. Instead of traditional milk, full-fat coconut milk goes into this baby.

We whipped up this little concoction yesterday after a nice long Sunday hike.

I was looking for something refreshing and since I love the exotic taste of chai tea, a smoothie made with it seemed like the perfect choice. We used Trader Joe’s brand of spiced chai tea to brew ours, but of course choose your favorite. [av_sidebar widget_area=’Lockerdome’ av_uid=’av-2vdlr9′]

I have tea in the fridge all the time, but no worries if you don’t. Simply brew a cup of chai tea ahead of your workout, run, or whatever, and stick it in the fridge. It’ll be cooled off and ready to go into the smoothie when you get back.

This one is so easy. I added half a banana, a few other ingredients, some ice, and called it good. Or should I say called it great – this one is so yummy!

Feel free to throw your favorite protein powder into the mix too for a little extra boost – it’s gonna whip up fine and you’ll love it!

Here’s to Monday being a great beginning to your week – cheers!
