Paleo Asian Chicken Wings

easy paleo recipe for chicken wings, Asian-flavored

For your next fun paleo meal just wing it…with this easy paleo recipe for baked chicken wings seasoned with an Asian-inspired spicy rub and a sweet and savory honey-based sauce.

Whether you’re prepping for a party or just plan on plopping down on the couch, the one meal that goes with just about anything is a big plate filled with sizzling wings.

Starting with a good dry rub is the key – it helps crisp up the wing’s skin without the need to fry them. Then brushing on a little special sauce when they’re done helps seal in all that tasty goodnesss. [av_sidebar widget_area=’Lockerdome’ av_uid=’av-7zonhk’]

I don’t bother with the parboiling or brining or marinading or anything else when I cook up a batch of wings. This method has always given me flavorful and juicy wings without all that extra busy work.

After baking these beauties on wire racks, brush on the Asian honey-based sauce, garnish with sesame seeds, and chow down!

This recipe is a lot like my favorite paleo wings recipe so far, my Spicy & Sweet Chipotle-Honey Wings. (If you haven’t tried that one yet – do it, I know you’ll love it!) But it’s nice to have a wing menu with a little variety…this recipe gives you a Far East flavored wing feast I think you’re really going to like.

I decided to use Chinese Five Spice Powder for this one. It’s not that hard to find…any major supermarket should carry it – either in the regular spice aisle or specialty Asian section. It has a lovely aroma and I really like the savory flavor it adds to the wings. Paired with this recipe’s simple honey-based sauce, you’ll be serving a winner with this dish.

Just remember to purchase wingettes and drumettes so you don’t have to separate them yourself. And note there’s an option to add cayenne pepper to the rub – feel free to adjust the heat up or down depending on how spicy you like your wings.

Hope you give this simple paleo wings recipe a try soon! Enjoy!
